In December 2025, the MarMac® team had the unique opportunity to witness our McBee-manufactured pipe couplers performing exactly as designed in a critical infrastructure project. Just 20 miles from our production facility outside Camden, South Carolina, we were invited to observe the installation of our products in a pond restoration project.
The situation presented a classic challenge in water management: a local property owner’s pond embankment had suffered significant erosion, ultimately leading to structural failure. With the pond drained and the embankment requiring complete reconstruction, the timing was ideal to implement a comprehensive spillway system upgrade that would reliably regulate water levels for years to come.
We supplied the property owner with a carefully selected combination of four MarMac® Pipe Couplers, each chosen for its specific application within the spillway system.
From the pond floor connection, three 18″ MarMac® PolySeal Couplers join sections of N-12 pipe running beneath the newly rebuilt embankment. This underground pipeline ensures that future overflow is safely and efficiently diverted to the adjacent creek.
The complete assembly creates a robust spillway system designed to handle varying water levels and overflow conditions while maintaining the structural integrity of the reconstructed embankment. Each coupling point represents a critical seal in the water management system.
A few days after the initial installation, our team returned to inspect the completed project and find the water level rising steadily behind the newly constructed embankment.
Later, the property owner expressed complete satisfaction with the results, confirming that the new spillway system has been working great. This successful installation showcases the practical performance and dependability of MarMac® sealing solutions in critical water management applications.
