TST 2600
Water & oil stain resistance treatment for garage floors & stone countertops
Topical Surface Treatments (TST) from MarMac® AIS provide essential protection for substrates by creating a defensive layer that shields against environmental damage and degradation, though they differ fundamentally from Polymer Surface Coatings (PSC) in their composition and bonding mechanisms. TSTs include sealers, penetrants, and removers that absorb into the substrate, forming thinner protective films, whereas PSCs involve synthetic polymer-based systems, creating thicker, chemically-bonded layers. While PSCs are generally longer-lasting, TSTs remain valuable for their ease of application, cost-effectiveness, and suitability for projects where shorter-term protection is sufficient, making both approaches important tools in surface protection strategies.
For concrete, topical treatments absorb into the porous surface to resist microbial corrosion and fungal attack while enhancing durability and appearance.
Topical treatments are also used to penetrate and seal the fibrous structure of wood, protecting against moisture absorption and helping preserve structural integrity and aesthetic appeal over time.
We have several topical treatments in the development and testing phases, so check back soon or reach out if you’re facing a problem you think a topical surface treatment could solve.
